Leading industry publication SecurityInfoWatch.com reports that the global market for security technology in the city surveillance sector has grown rapidly, exceeding $3 billion in 2017, according to a new report by global research firm IHS Markit.
Growth in city surveillance is expected to continue, with IHS predicting an average growth rate of 14.6 percent from 2016 to 2021.
IHS analyst Jacky Zhang said in the report that state capitals and major cities have driven sustainable growth in the sector. Zhang adds that advanced technologies such as video content analysis are gaining traction, and body-worn cameras are increasing in demand.
