How-To Video: Using EI Smart Managed Switches with HikCentral Professional

It’s easy to operate our EI Smart Managed Switches using HikCentral Professional for visual topology, remote configurations, live view, PTZ control and more. We’ve introduced a video on our YouTube channel that demonstrates all the features and functionality, and shows you how to use the HikCentral VMS to better support your security system and network maintenance.

EI Smart Switches offer a range of features such as monitoring and bandwidth threshold that make them easier to repair and maintain, supporting a reduction in network downtime. These switches are available in 4, 8, 16 or 24x100 Mbps PoE ports for flexibility and scalability.

HikCentral is our flagship central video management software (VMS) that enables you to easily manage your security system. Paired with our EI Smart Switches, it offers the following features and benefits illustrated in the video.

  • Monitor Network Health and Status with Visual Topology: This unique 2D visual layout displays all the devices connected to a particular switch and provides a quick snapshot of connection details such as IP address, port status and the traffic information. 
     
  • Real-Time Data On-Demand: Users can view and manage features such as the auto-refresh interval, topology display level and bandwidth alarm threshold settings.
     
  • Real-Time Alarm Notifications Lower Costs & Risk: Greatly reduce the cost of network operations and maintenance—and lower risk—with real-time alerts that allow you to respond proactively to incidents. Switches display an alarm notification if network bandwidth exceeds the threshold and the camera tile will turn red when it’s disconnected.
     
  • Video Live View for Immediate Access: Use live view for real-time security footage when a Hikvision IP camera is connected to the smart managed switch.
