Hikvision Learning & Development Offers Free Online Security Courses in 2018

Hikvision’s Learning & Development arm recently posted two new, free online courses for Hikvision partners to take advantage of on topics of video compression and thermal cameras.

“Hikvision courses are designed to offer practical knowledge to our dealers and other partners so they can excel in the security marketplace, drive growth for their organizations and support end users,” said Jennifer Petty, Hikvision’s learning and development manager. Going forward her team hopes to post a new, free course each month for Hikvision partners, she added.

New Hikvision security course offerings include the following:

  • Video Compression Best Practices: This course provides an overview of the relationship between image data size, bandwidth and disk storage. Participants will learn the basics of various compression techniques and ways to apply best practices when designing and deploying video surveillance systems. To access this course, click here.
  • Thermal Camera Concepts and Applications: In this course, participants will gain an understanding of the thermal camera operation, how that operation differs from visible light and IR cameras, and how those differences can be employed to improve surveillance capabilities and the reliability of video analytics in challenging lighting conditions.
