4K PTZ security camera provided by Hikvision UK is helping the Salford City Council in Greater Manchester, England to do more in spite of budget reductions.

“Over the last five years Salford City Council has seen its government funding reduce by 40 percent. We have to manage that as well as help combat crime, and the CCTV cameras are invaluable – as well as helping to detect missing people who might be vulnerable,” said David Lancaster, Salford city council member.

Upgrading aging cameras to the Hikvision IP model with DarkFighter surveillance technology for clear imagery in low light conditions, plus features such as 23 times optical zoom, is allowing the council to monitor larger areas with less capital investment than before.

“The result is that we’re getting clear images day and night and are able to give the police even better information to help them locate offenders and missing persons. The image quality is now phenomenal,” Lancaster added.

The council plans to standardize its entire security system to Hikvision cameras. To read the entire case study, click here.
